IMG_0470Allison Prell is double majoring in Public Health and Kinesiology. She has worked alongside underprivileged communities in Central America designing a curriculum on public health practices ranging from dental hygiene to deforestation, all targeted towards young children. Allison is currently collaborating with professors and administrators to enhance the curriculum for “Women in Leadership,” a class offered at William & Mary with a focus on female empowerment. She is certified in social network analysis through the University of Pennsylvania.

IMG_0468Cate Johnson studies Government, Public Health and Environmental Science and Policy. She is a teaching assistant for the College’s Center for Geospatial Analysis, has co-developed and co-instructed a course, and tutors writing. She has extensive experience planning and implementing children’s programs in Central America, and mentors young girls in her local community through sports and youth groups. Cate has been awarded the AidData Summer 2015 Fellowship, and will be working as a Spatial Data Specialist for Save the Children Nepal in Kathmandu, beginning on June 1st, 2015.

IMG_0465Laura Pugh is double majoring in Biology and Public Health. She has conducted two research projects in Mbale and Nakapiripirit Districts, Uganda, living in low-income communities for two months each time and conducting interviews and surveys among underprivileged women. In Uganda she also organized free HIV testing, taught biology to secondary school students, and worked with local health workers to teach health topics to people living in remote villages. She is a teaching assistant in International Nutrition and tutors Biology, Epidemiology, and Economics.
